Vauxhall Key Replacement: Corsa, Astra, Mokka Costs
Vauxhall is one of the most common makes on Thames Valley driveways, and the Corsa and Astra between them account for a large share of our brand-specific call-outs. Key requirements vary a lot across the range depending on age, so identifying the right variant first is what keeps the price down.
Which key does your Vauxhall use?
**Corsa D and E (2006–2019)** use a two- or three-button flip key with an integrated transponder. Straightforward and among the cheapest keys we supply.
**Corsa F (2019 onwards)**, built on the Stellantis platform, uses a Peugeot-derived remote or proximity smart key depending on trim.
**Astra J and K (2009–2021)** use a flip key; higher trims use a keyless proximity fob.
**Astra L (2021 onwards)** follows the same Stellantis system as the Corsa F.
**Mokka and Mokka-e (2020 onwards)** typically use a proximity smart key, with the electric Mokka-e requiring specific handling.
**Insignia (2008–2022)** uses a flip key on early cars and a smart key on later high-trim models.
**Vivaro and Combo vans** use flip keys, and fleet operators very often need multiple spares coded to one vehicle.
Typical 2026 prices
For a spare cut and coded alongside an existing working key, expect roughly £120–£180 for a flip key and £180–£260 for a proximity smart key. For an all-keys-lost replacement, expect roughly £190–£260 for a flip key and £260–£360 for a smart key. Final price depends on the exact model year and variant, which we confirm from your registration before dispatch.
Common Vauxhall key faults we see
**Corsa D flip-key hinge failure** — the pivot pin wears and the blade becomes loose or flops open. Often repairable by transferring the electronics into a new shell, which is far cheaper than a full new key.
**Worn blades on high-mileage Astras** — the key turns in the door but no longer in the ignition. A freshly cut blade to the original factory code usually solves it.
**Immobiliser dropout after a flat battery** — the pairing between key and immobiliser is lost after a deep discharge or a badly executed jump-start, and needs re-coding.
**Stellantis-era proximity key desync** — Corsa F and Astra L fobs occasionally lose sync and need re-pairing rather than replacing.
